London Tower Bridge or Tower Bridge is a bascule and suspension type of bridge that is located within the old city of London in England, United Kingdom. It crosses the Thames River with the borough of Tower Hamlets lies on its northern side and the borough of Southwark on its southern part. The architect Sir Horace Jones with the help of the celebrated engineer Sir John Wolfe Barry designed the bridge. The bridge's construction started sometime in 1886 and was finished after eight years.
